This policy explains what we collect through rootcausesoncology.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers this website, our text message program, and the forms on it.
It does not cover the medical records of established patients. Information created in the course of treatment is protected health information and is handled under our Notice of Privacy Practices, which you receive when you become a patient.
We do not ask for health information on this website, and we ask that you not send it through our forms or by text. If you do, we will handle it with care, but ordinary email and SMS are not secure channels.
The text program is mostly one thing: telling you when our physicians are going live on Instagram so you can bring a question. Once in a while we'll send other news from the practice.
By submitting your mobile number, you agree to receive recurring automated text messages from Root Causes Oncology. Consent is not a condition of purchasing anything or of receiving care.
Roughly one message per Live session, plus the occasional other update. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your plan. We do not charge for the messages.
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us at info@rootcauses.com or 210.468.3042. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
We do not sell your number, and we do not share your mobile number or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing. We share it only with the messaging provider that delivers the texts on our behalf.
The program is one-way. The number sends announcements; it does not receive questions. Anything texted to it gets an automatic reply pointing you to the Live session or to our phone number, and we delete inbound messages on a short cycle. Bring your question to the Live itself, where our physicians answer them directly.
We use a small number of vendors to run this site and reach you. Each receives only what it needs:
We do not sell personal information, and we do not permit these vendors to use your information for their own purposes.
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages get read. It sets cookies and collects an approximate location and device type. It does not tell us who you are. Most browsers let you block or clear cookies, and Google offers an opt-out browser add-on.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information. Write to us and we will honor them.
We keep contact information for as long as you want to hear from us, and as long as any legal obligation requires. We use reasonable safeguards, but no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. Material changes to the text program will be disclosed before they take effect.
